Investigation 02 / Recorded telescope data

Look at the star. Look away.

Which recorded lines survive the six-scan comparison?

Follow-up / Detector audit completed for one cadence.

The historical account below records the original open questions. The follow-up confirms below-threshold scores in all four empty scans, recovers their 20 injected controls and fixes a drift-coverage defect. Read the report and reproduce the checks →

01

Choose one small window

The run reads 1380–1381 MHz from six archived Green Bank Telescope observations. Three point at HIP544; the others point away. This is one cadence, not a sky survey.

02

Compare the directions

A line found in an OFF scan fails the direction test. A line missing from one or more ON scans fails repeatability. These are mechanical classifications, not identified physical causes.

03

Inspect every row

Explore all 273 classified rows by frequency, drift and signal-to-noise ratio. Each row retains its measured ON/OFF counts and the original check notes.

04

Expose the unfinished checks

The detector reported empty tables in later ON scans and logging errors. No other cadence was supplied for the session census. Neither missing check is evidence that the sky is clear.

What this establishes

The stored table contains 149 IN_OFF and 124 SINGLE_POINTING rows, with no ON_ONLY rows. Later ON scans returned empty detector tables; that unresolved limitation prevents a broad null-result claim.
